Pentágono revela que ya tiene listo un operativo si Maduro decide abandonar Venezuela

El Departamento de Defensa de Estados Unidos confirmó este martes que cuenta con un plan de contingencia en caso de que el presidente venezolano, Nicolás Maduro, abandone el país, en un contexto de crecientes tensiones entre Washington y Caracas tras el despliegue militar estadounidense en aguas del Caribe y el Pacífico bajo el argumento de combatir al narcotráfico.

La portavoz del Pentágono, Kingsley Wilson, fue directa al ser cuestionada sobre las acciones previstas si Maduro opta por huir: “Tenemos una respuesta planificada y lista”, señaló, asegurando que el Departamento se mantiene “a total disposición” del presidente Donald Trump “para hacer lo que sea necesario”.

Wilson recalcó que las fuerzas estadounidenses trabajan con escenarios preparados para cualquier eventualidad. “Siempre estamos listos. Tenemos planes para cada contingencia y nos aseguraremos de desmantelar las redes ligadas al narcotráfico”, afirmó. También insistió en que el objetivo central es “eliminar a los narcoterroristas que están envenenando al pueblo estadounidense”.

Desde septiembre, cuando comenzó la campaña de bombardeos contra embarcaciones sospechosas en la región, Estados Unidos ha ejecutado 21 ataques contra barcos presuntamente cargados con droga, dejando 82 muertos que el Pentágono identifica como “narcoterroristas”. La portavoz defendió estas operaciones calificándolas de “acciones necesarias para proteger la seguridad vital de Estados Unidos”.

Wilson también confirmó un segundo ataque contra sobrevivientes de un bombardeo previo que había destruido una embarcación con once tripulantes. La decisión, explicó, fue tomada por el almirante Frank Bradley y respaldada “al cien por ciento” por el secretario de Defensa, Pete Hegseth, para “garantizar la eliminación de una amenaza”.

“La inteligencia es clara: cada persona en esos barcos es un narcoterrorista”, insistió. “Nuestros equipos legales, militares y civiles confirman quiénes son, qué transportan y hacia dónde se dirigen. Todas esas embarcaciones intentaban llevar drogas que matan y dañan a ciudadanos estadounidenses”.
