Incrementa 90% el precio del aguacate en 6 meses

Morelia, Michoacán.-El precio del aguacate ha incrementado un 92 por ciento durante el primer semestre de es año, con un precio de 48 a 67 pesos el kilo en el país, de acuerdo a datos de la Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor (Profeco).

No obstante la dependencia del consumidor ha recibido quejas de que en algunas regiones del país se ha llegado a vender hasta en 80 pesos el kilo de este fruto.

Durante la primera quincena de junio tuvo un alza del 22 por ciento, en comparación a la última quincena de mayo, convirtiéndose en los productos que más subieron de precio.

El aumento se debe a que la cosecha más grande del fruto ha concluido, principalmente en el estado de Michoacán, que es el que produce el 80 por ciento de lo que se consume en todo México.

Aunado a esto, también implica la demanda de los extranjeros, quienes le han tomado el gusto a este producto, por lo que cada día va incrementado su exportación.

Asimismo, algunos productores señalaron que este año hubo menos producción debido a las lluvias y heladas atípicas que se generaron a principios de año, lo que provocó que el fruto se dañara.

En 2015 México produjo 1.6 millones de toneladas de aguacate, donde la mayor parte de la producción correspondió a Michoacán, seguido de Jalisco y el Estado de México.
