Morelia, Michoacán. Tras el recuento de 9 de las 13 casillas del municipio de Nuevo Urecho, el Instituto Electoral de Michoacán (IEM) ratificó la victoria del candidato a la alcaldía por el Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI).
En sesión extraordinaria, la junta municipal del IEM realizó el recuento de votos en cumplimiento a la resolución del Tribunal Electoral del Estado de Michoacán (TEEM); ya que en un principio se negó a realizarlo a pesar que la diferencia entre el primer y segundo lugar era de apenas 28 votos.
Tras el recuento, la ventaja del priista, Adolfo Rodríguez Sánchez, se redujo a sólo 8 votos sin contar las otras 4 casillas que ya habían sido escrutadas por el instituto.
En total, los escrutadores revisaron 3 mil boletas de las cuales solamente 2 mil 948 resultaron válidas para la elección de presidente municipal.
A pesar del recuento de las urnas, la victoria del priista todavía no es un hecho ya que falta el visto bueno del Tribunal Electoral puesto que se trata de un asunto judicial y extraordinario.

Por su parte, el TEEM aseguró que apenas ha resuelto dos casos de impugnaciones electorales de las 137 que fueron promovidas al finalizar el cómputo de las casillas en los 113 municipios.
En entrevista para Michoacán TresPuntoCero, el presidente del Tribunal Electoral, José René Olivos Campos, confirmó que los casos de Susupuato y Taretan son los únicos en los que el pleno promovió una sentencia. Sin embargo aseguró “estamos en tiempo para resolverlos todos”.
El TEEM tiene 24 horas para recibir la notificación del recuento de Nuevo Urecho para poder dictar una sentencia resolutoria que confirme o rechace el escrutinio de los consejeros electorales.
Entre las impugnaciones que recibió el tribunal michoacano son 94 en alcaldías, 12 para diputados por mayoría relativa, 6 para diputados plurinominales y 25 para la elección de gobernador del Estado.
