SEP reabre debate sobre calendario escolar tras polémica por adelanto de vacaciones

La Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) inició este lunes una reunión plenaria extraordinaria con autoridades educativas de las 32 entidades del país para discutir nuevamente el cierre del ciclo escolar 2025-2026 y el arranque del siguiente periodo académico, luego de la controversia generada por la propuesta de adelantar el fin de clases al 5 de junio.

El encuentro, encabezado por el titular de la SEP, Mario Delgado, se realiza en la sede de la dependencia federal y tiene como único tema la revisión del calendario escolar, después de las críticas expresadas por padres de familia, docentes y distintos gobiernos estatales.

La polémica surgió luego de que el pasado 7 de mayo se anunciara que el ciclo escolar concluiría más de un mes antes de lo previsto, argumentando las altas temperaturas en diversas regiones del país y el impacto logístico que podría provocar el Mundial de Futbol 2026.

Durante la apertura de la sesión, Delgado reconoció que la propuesta inicial no incorporó todas las opiniones necesarias y llamó a construir un acuerdo que tome en cuenta las distintas realidades educativas del país. También pidió a las autoridades estatales presentar propuestas concretas para definir una fecha de cierre que combine un calendario nacional con posibles ajustes regionales.

En los últimos días, la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum señaló que el recorte del ciclo escolar aún no es definitivo y adelantó que el gobierno federal analiza mantener el calendario original en algunas entidades, mientras otras podrían modificarlo dependiendo de sus condiciones climáticas y operativas.
