Morelia, Michoacán, a 23 de mayo del 2016.- La Universidad Tecnológica de la Construcción (UTEC) continúa con la profesionalización de los jóvenes michoacanos y ya se consolidó como un referente regional en la formación práctica de sus estudiantes.
Desde el 2014 surgió como respuesta a la demanda de la industria de la construcción, por ser una de las actividades económicas más importantes del país que incide directamente en la competitividad, la generación de empleo, la productividad y la distribución del ingreso.
Actualmente, la Universidad cuenta con 5 carreras: Licenciatura en Arquitectura y Diseño, Ingeniería Civil, Ingeniería en Administración de Obra, Ingeniería Ambiental e Ingeniería en Topografía y Geología.
Su alumnado, además de adquirir conocimientos, desarrolla habilidades, aptitudes y valores para el diseño e implementación de proyectos que promueven el respeto a su entorno.
Además, la UTEC es una Universidad especializada que nace con una vinculación natural a las empresas de la industria y se inserta en el principal Parque Tecnológico de la Construcción del Bajío Mexicano, mismo que permiten impulsar la productividad y la innovación al incidir directamente sobre sus procesos y productos.
Dicho parque industrial se conforma de empresas que durante años han sido referencia en la industria de la construcción como: Prefabricados Grupo de ORO (Fábrica de Block y Tabicón), Euroton de México (fábrica de recubrimientos y pinturas), ORO Solar (Fábrica de Calentadores Solares), Elementos Estructurales Prefabricados EEPSA, Asfaltera Grupo de ORO, Área de Torno y Soldadura y Taller Mecánico y Área de logística.
La institución formadora de profesionales en la construcción ya se consolidó como un referente en la región, asimismo, recientemente integró sus instalaciones al Centro de Innovación y Desarrollo Tecnológico de la Industria de la Construcción (CITEC).
La UTEC se ubicada en el Parque Industrial para la Competitividad e Innovación, en la 4ª Etapa de Ciudad Industrial.
