Julio de 2018, el mes más violento en 21 años

Morelia, Michoacán. – El pasado mes de julio se posicionó como el mes más violento de los últimos 21 años al contabilizar 2 mil 599 homicidios dolosos en México, de acuerdo a las cifras del Secretariado Ejecutivo del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Pública.

Lo anterior se traduce en que, durante el mes de julio fueron asesinadas diariamente en México un promedio de 83 personas.

Los mismos datos del Sesnsp revelan que de enero a junio de 2018 se han cometido en el país 16 mil asesinatos, traducibles a 2 mil 285 homicidios dolosos por mes.

En 2017, México rompió record histórico en homicidios dolosos al cerrar con 31 mil 174 personas asesinadas, principalmente con arma de fuego, pero la tendencia que marca 2018 apunta a que la presente anualidad rebasará los números y los índices de violencia del año anterior.

Anterior a 2017, el año más violento de México fue 2011, periodo en que el entonces presidente de la República, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa instruía la llamada “Guerra contra el narco”, que al término del sexenio contabilizó cerca de 60 mil personas asesinadas relacionadas a la delincuencia organizada y su combate.
