Al menos 22 personas murieron y más de mil resultaron heridas por un sismo de 6,8 grados de magnitud que sacudió la provincia de Elazig, en el sureste de Turquía.
Las últimas informaciones difundidas hasta hoy por AFAD, el organismo público turco de emergencias, declara que la cifra de muertos por el sismo es el más fuerte registrado en Turquía desde 2011.
Aproximadamente 30 personas siguen atrapadas bajo edificios derrumbados, señalaron las autoridades.
En las últimas horas, los equipos de emergencia han conseguido rescatar con vida a varias personas que llevaban más de doce horas bajo los escombros, entre ellas una mujer embarazada, los trabajos continúan, informó la cadena NTV
